This quilt is from my Creative Design workshop that I taught last year at Karen Overton's in Houston Texas. I had the huge honor of having Tom Russell http://www.apqs.com/quiltertomrussell.htm) in this class. His work is amazing and I have been a huge fan of his every since I saw his work on Simply Quilts. My quilt is based on the blueprint he designed in my class.
I named this quilt "Tribal Fusion" This quilt measures 57x57. Though it is made from one ecru fabric, it was pieced to make it larger. I spent approx.. 500 hours re-designing, quilting and inking this piece. It is a fusion of my love for tradition and Tom's contemporary flair. I think I will refer to it as Tratemporary! I used 2 layers of Hobbs poly down batting and Superior Threads Sew-Fine for the
quilting.
